Don’t Let Diabetes Ruin Your Life
Diabetes mellitus is a group of diseases share the common characteristic of hyperglycemia. Diabetes occurs when the pancreas can not produce enough insulin or when the insulin that is produced in the pancreas can not function adequately.
When diabetes is not well controlled, it can cause serious complications and premature death. I ask health professionals all the time about people who have come for routine health checks just learned to their surprise, they have Type I or II diabetes.
Thirty years, Tom was admitted for injuries all over his body simply to walk all day at Disneyland with his family. He was then informed that he had acute diabetes and must be in a wheelchair. And today, with continuous increase in the number of people with diabetes in the USA is alarming and many people like Tom did not even know they had until it was too late. There are nearly 21 million people only in USA who have diabetes, most of them type 2.
This represents about 7 percent of the population and more than 6 million of these people do not know they have the condition, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in addition to other reports that 41 million people estimated to have pre-diabetes, a condition which is developed before type 2 diabetes. Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the USA.
In 2005, only 1.5 million people aged 20 years or older were newly diagnosed with diabetes Most people who have said diabetes by their physician to begin to take diabetes pills or drugs and go on a diet. The doctor hands a diet to follow, they try, can not get motivated and when calls are routed hunger and have a pizza and beer.
What people are often not told is that diabetes is a major cause of blindness for adults, less limb amputation, kidney disease and nerve damage. This could lead to more complications and death for sure. Most people have diabetes in 40 years, 50 years and up. But in today’s society of fast food children and young adults, even in adolescence and early ages of 20 and 30 have or are under way to stop this deadly killer disease altogether.
I tell people that there is no magic cure or diet pill saving them to put this disease for which there is no known cure. There are only a few easy ways treating diabetes by educating doctors and other professionals in the knowledge that you will give control of high blood pressure, reduce cholesterol and stopping smoking. These key factors alone will help reduce the risk of developing diabetes
